Natural limestone aquarium plant anchor from Lake Michigan. Lead-free, pH-buffering, and safe for freshwater tanks. Great for diggers like cichlids.
Keep Your Live Aquarium Plants Secure—Naturally
Tired of plants constantly floating up or getting uprooted by busy tank mates? These natural white, cream, tan, and gray limestone plant anchors offer a safe, effective, and attractive solution for keeping live aquarium plants in place—without the risks of lead or artificial materials.
Hand-selected from Lake Michigan beaches, each limestone anchor is 100% natural, hand-drilled, and free of coatings or chemicals. They're a safe, non-toxic alternative to metal plant weights—perfect for freshwater aquariums and even small pond setups. Each stone includes a single beveled hole designed to hold stem or rooted plants firmly in your substrate, keeping your aquascape intact and low-maintenance.
These limestone anchors are especially helpful for tanks with diggers like cichlids, plecos, gouramis, corydoras, oscars, and crustaceans—all of whom are notorious for unearthing plants and creating chaos.
🌿 Aquarium Compatibility & pH Information
Natural limestone has a pH of 7 and may slowly raise the pH of more acidic water (under 7.0), making it an effective buffer in many setups. It’s compatible with a wide range of freshwater species, including:
Bettas, mollies, guppies, platies, swordtails
Cichlids, corys, plecos, goldfish
Even kuhli loaches and other more sensitive fish in neutral pH environments
If your water needs to stay below 6.5 due to fish species, consider using granite, basalt, or sandstone anchors from my shop instead.
One of the unique benefits of limestone is the contrast it provides against dark substrates, adding visual interest to your tank while still looking completely natural.
